During installation an 'Unable to connect to Sophos' message is displayed

Issue

 
During installation, when the installer tries to set up your updating credentials, it displays a message saying that it is unable to contact Sophos. Typically this will be seen when your web traffic goes via a proxy server.

 

What To Do

 

You must ensure that both HTTP and HTTPS are configured correctly to allow access to the internet.
