Scan failure message in syslog

Issue


When you run a scan, a message similar to the following is displayed in the syslog, but no further logging information is recorded:

 

2008-09-19 10:56:59 /Applications/Sophos Endpoint Security and Control.app/Contents/MacOS/Sophos Endpoint Security and Control[852] Failed to create a log, logging scan results to system log.

 

What to do

 

This issue can occur if you give the scan an exceptionally long name. To fix this issue, rename the scan with a shorter name, i.e. one containing less than 255 characters.
