Hi and welcome to the SophosFreeTalk online community (discussion forums). As of Tuesday 2nd November 2010, we're open to questions, answers, comment and suggestions about the Sophos free tools, starting with:
Sophos Anti-Virus for Mac Home Edition
At Sophos, we believe there is insufficient awareness of the range of malware that threatens Mac users. As Apple computers grow more popular than ever, they’re an increasingly-enticing target for hackers. That’s why Sophos is introducing anti-malware designed to provide Mac home users with up–to-the-hour protection that is simple to use and FREE!
Because the Home Edition is free, we're not offering technical support via the standard Sophos channels. Instead, we've launched SophosFreeTalk. Our other online community, SophosTalk, has proven that peer-to-peer support is highly effective, and we're using the experience we've gained there to build our new, free tools users community. We've tried to anticipate user questions about access, installation, licensing, use and malware clean-up. We've added technical posts, FAQs and link points into the online help. If those don't answer your question, ask the community. There are Sophos insiders registered with the community, and they will help out. If you have the answer to someone's question, feel free.
Please note that if you do call or email the standard Support channels, you'll be directed to this online community.
Anyone can read the community posts. If you want to join the community, you need to register and sign in. Details of how to do that are given in our registration FAQ.
