Just downloaded Sophos anti-virus program. It says when all ready to go, I'll see a black shield - but mine is blue. Haven't been able to find the answer yet as to what a blue shield means, so hopefully someone will have a simple, quick answer for me. Thanks!
I'm surprised you haven't been able to find the answer - a quick search for blue shield lists a number of posts in which the answer should be found (note that with 8.0 the appearance of the black icon in the menu bar has slightly changed but that's not related to the black vs. blue question).
