Sophos Anti-Virus for Mac Home Edition

my husband installed sophos on my computer...I don't know which version it is.

I want to install the mac home edition, but i get this message.

Another version of Sophos anti-virus software, which is not compatible with this version, is already installed. You must remove that version before attempting installation again.

help, please.

If the version installed is SAV 7, it's basically the same product.  If it's SAV 4, you'll need to upgrade to SAV 7, run the SAV 7 uninstaller, and then install SAV 7 HE.

On the version my daughter installed, it says the update is not configured. We have been in circles for months on this. It's driving me crazy and I know I have a virus or trojan that is messing up everything on my computer. Could the virus be the reason it won't update and how do I remove so I can get it cleaned up? Thanks

Do you have the Home Edition or the Enterprise Edition installed?  What version? 4? 7? 8?

The Sophos Remove.app file is in the /Applications folder for all Home Edition versions

It is found in  /Library/Sophos Anti-Virus/ on the Enterprise Edition on version 7 and 8.

Version 4 didn't have an uninstaller, but can be upgraded to the trial version 7 or 8 of the Enterprise Edition, which can then be uninstalled.
