Installing Sophos Anti-Virus for Mac Home Edition: Postcode problems

Following mention of this wonderful product by the NZ Consumer in their June 2011 edition, I downloaded this for my Mac. My wife (currently studying at Oxford University) says, when she tried to do the same thing on her Mac, she was stymied by the 'postcode' box as it refused to accept it. I wondered if that was because she was logging in from the UK, which uses a different form of postcodes?

Couple of questions:

Is inputting of the postcode essential to download, or can that box be left blank?

If it is essential, can you help us out here? I wondered if she might input her Oxford postcode and address temporarily, then change it to her NZ address and postcode once back in this country? Or is there some other simpler solution?

cheers

Re: Installing Sophos Anti-Virus for Mac Home Edition: Postcode problems

Out of curiosity, where are you downloading the software from?  This software requires absolutely NO registration and is a direct download from North America, as found here: http://www.sophos.com/en-us/products/free-tools/sophos-antivirus-for-mac-home-edition/download.aspx

The only legitimate reason I can think of for this difference would be if she ends up pointed at a different locale than en-us when she attempts to download, and the other locale has different requirements.  I have not heard of this being the case, however.

Please reply with the download page links you and she are using, so I can first verify that the links are legitimate, and second attempt to replicate your issue if they are legitimate.  It is possible that New Zealand has a unique download page that is different from the rest of the world.
