I tried installing MacHome AV several times on my iMac G5 OS 10.4.11 but the installation stalls. Now it seems that I have problems with my account permissions (can't unlock System Preferences), certain programs like TechTools hang after startup, Word and Excel crash when trying to save documents, etc. A find on "Sophos" in the finder turns up only one file under the Other category: 86D591CA-6DD1-4A2D-808C-689D1BCCF5C6.webbookmark in Library/Caches/Metadata/Safari/Bookmarks.
Note: I've repaired permissions many times, did a Apple Hardware test (found no problems), ran Disk Utility both verify and repair (found no problems).
I just find it "funny" that I didn't have any of these problems before trying to install MacHome AV. Do you have any ideas on why this happen and what I can do to fix this.
Also my wife was able to install MacHome AV on another Mac with no problems (same internet connection), but after the installation, she had problems with AppleWorks, so she turned off AV.
Any help with the above will be greatly appreciated

Do you have AppleJack for PPC 10.4 installed? I'd suggest running this in single user mode (command-S during startup) to check for other issues. It definitely looks like you've got something wrong, possibly with a kernel extension (kext) file. Also check your logs in console.app (specifically the crash logs and your syslog) to see if there's something systemic going on.
