Try downloading the trial of the enterprise version and "updating" -- the trial will include the uninstaller, which should then allow you to fully uninstall in preparation for using the Home version.

I've tried downloading the free trial enterprise but of course that's only for a PC so that's not a solution...
Sorry to be a pain but I thought it would be so easy and its now taken me over an hour and I'm no further forward......
Trust you will answer my concerns
Cheers

The free trial enterprise is not only for PC; it's just the enterprise console that's for PC. If you read the rest of the page, there are a number of variants of the endpoint software you can download for MacOS. The one you want is SAV7 for Stand Alone Computer: https://secure.sophos.com/support/updates/dp/full/

The uninstaller is installed by the installer; it's not loose in the downloaded package.

Thank you, Agile. I was successful in removing the old and installing the new.

I have a Mac computer which I got to keep after I retired from my office. I have tried to remove the anti-virus software unsuccessfully. I cannot find the "Remove Anti-Virus.." option in the Library/Application Support list. I tried to remove it through the Unix command line, following the prompts recommended by Sophos. It asks for authentication. When I typed in "su-" for Super User command, it asks for a password. I typed in the password that I have for my computer and it's not correct. I am stuck. Now what???? Sophos Technical Support and my former office technical support have not been able to help either.
Sophos suggested that I get a Add/Remove program.
Anyone has any additional suggestions?
