Hi,
I've installed Sophos for Mac this morning and have had a couple of problems...
1st... selected scan local drives and it spent ages just showing calculating. Eventually used force quit.
2nd... it started scanning but appears to be stuck with 2,550,801 files remaining, and i can't restart it.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Stephen.

Having same problem!
New install of Saphos 8.0.2c today onto MacBook SSD with OSX 10.7.3.
SSD capacity: 120.15 GB with 70.1 GB available
TimeMachine running to external iOmega
Started scan and Saphos indicated only scanning the MacBook (?)
Screen reads: Scan Local Drives - Scan all files and folders on this Mac. - Calculating...
Blue barbar poll activity icon running and running . . . for over an hour as of this writing.
I assumed Calculating would result in some estimation of run-time, folders count, etc. - Something!
Nothing reported. Mac not hung, can access other parts of system and apps. Sophos Stop Scan button greys when clicked, but otherwise is not responding.
What should be happening? What is aprox. time for an initial scan?

12:23 PM – Quit Saphos while it was still: “Calculating…”
Later: 2:10 PM – Restarted from Saphos from shield logo & selected Scan Local Drive – Scan now appears to be running normally!
3:46 PM & still running but is displaying a tally of “items remaining” of over 680,000 and declining rapidly.
4:47 PM finished!
