When trying to install Anti Virus for Mac I get "Error code 407". This occurs during the Updates Phase of install. One thought occurs to me, I routinely have to manually log into our Proxy Server to go out to the Internet. Could this be the hang up?

407 is the code for HTTP Proxy authentication required, so .. yeah..

You should be able to provide proxy authentication creds.

My proxy requires basic authentication; the installer is not prompting for my proxy's username and password, and I'm unable to continue.

i culdn't install sophos.
i keep getting this message
"The installer cannot connect to Sophos, although your Mac appears to be connected to the internet. Please check your network settings and click Continue again"

I found that, if Sophos installation claims that it can not get connected to the server although the internet connection seems to work fine, disabling the WiFi and using the LAN connection worked fine.
Ihad both LAN and WiFi connection running - looks like that was the problem.

how do i do this

For me the same. I have tried a million times. And no I have no other programme running and yes i have clicked on clock and so on. Not only very annoying but it also casts serious doubts onto the trustworthiness and reliability of this application. Very disappointed in Sophos.

I am having the same problem. It does not appear that you got an answer, or did I miss something? Still looking for help.
