When the antivirus finds a threat why does it stop scanning? After quarantining and starting scan it starts from the beginning. I figured it would complete the scan then allow you to quarantine whatever was found. Is this how it works on everyones Mac?

Usually the quarantine report doesn't come up until after the entire scan is complete; the scan should not stop in the middle. Are you using SAV 8.0.2?

It is Version 8.0.2C and it stopped twice yesterday when it found a threat, then after quarantining it and restarted it started from the beginning.

The on-demand scan will always start from the beginning; after all, it has no idea what has changed on your computer.
The on-access scan is always running in the background, and will scan a file any time it is accessed. You can also create custom scans to scan specific folders, or use the contextual menu in the Finder to scan selected items and their contents.
If you get as far as the quarantine, you've already completed your scan as far as it is going to go.
