Following our investigations, we have now modified the way in which Sophos Anti-Virus handles infections on Time Machine backups. This modification was released on 16 November 2010, in the IDE file dloa-dei.ide. All computers that receive regular updates should now have been automatically updated.
If your computers do not update automatically, do the following:
* Run an "Update Now"
* Check /Library/Sophos\ Anti-Virus/IDE/ for name of the IDE that the update went out in, which is dloa-dei.ide.

Thanks to Sandy and all at Sophos.
Re http://www.sophos.com/downloads/release_dates/ I guess that after users gain the update to virus data version 201012 (4.60) — on or after 30th November — they'll find that directory without dloa-dei.ide — yes?
(Thinking ahead a little, for the benefit of users who are unfamiliar with IDEs as a concept.)

Can I ask one more question about this?
After the update, what will the SAV do if it detects threats in Time Machine?
Thanks for answering and thanks for this great Mac anti-virus.
