Virus/ Trojan in Cache File in compressed backup cause problems?

The threat i reported in a previous post is in a cache file in my iMac desktop backups that are in Time Machine.

Do I have to be concerned about it?

Re: Virus/ Trojan in Cache File in compressed backup cause problems?

Since it's in a cache file, even if you do a complete restore it will likely be purged by the OS almost immediately.  The only problem you'll have is with the alerts warning you there's an infected file.  You can navigate to the file from within Time Machine and remove all backups of it as the best prevention method (SAV won't delete files from backup archives).
