Where is the Sophos Quarantine Folder? Or is there no folder, just a db file?

I am trying to follow the advice here http://openforum.sophos.com/t5/Mac-tools-help/Known-Issue-Action-of-moving-infected-files-is-interce... to exclude the "Quarantine Folder" from Spotlight Search but cannot find a Quarantine Folder anywhere.

I eventually found a Quarantine db file - is this what is meant?

Finder Search (visible or invisible) files could not find it and it took a bit of time tracking this file down.

If there is a Quarantine Folder - where do I find it please?

Best wishes,

Liz

Hello Liz,

what issue did you encounter that makes you think you have to follow that advice? Note that it applies to an immediate scan - e.g. a Finder scan (Ctrl-Click -> Scan with Sophos Anti-Virus). Can't say if this is still an issue with the newer versions.

Anyway you'll see the folder location (default /Users/Shared/Infected/) when you select Move threat for When a threat is found.

Just for further clarification: by default, there is no Sophos Quarantine folder.  Files are locked for access, but not moved by default.  That advice you mentioned is for a specific edge case, and unless you are experiencing the problem, you should not need to worry about it.
