Why is my Sophos Icon Grey with an x in it?

Hi I just installed the lastest Sophos (Powerbook, OS 10.5.8).   I  read that the icon should be black but on my computer it appears grey with an x in it.

Of course if I open Sophos, then in the dock it appears blue.

Opening the preferences, it reads that the on-access scanner is off.

I am new here so I am not sure what all of this means. Your help is much appreciated.

thanks

Re: Why is my Sophos Icon Grey with an x in it?

Hello ninao,

the search for on-access off 8.0.6C turns up some threads/posts where this is discussed. Looks like it could have several reasons. Can you turn on-access on in Preferences (note you have to click the lock to change settings)?

Re: Why is my Sophos Icon Grey with an x in it?

Hi

I realized that I had mistakenly downloaded the incorrect version for my OS software (from another website). So I uninstalled and reinstalled the correct version (from Sophos website). Everything is working fine now.

thanks
