Sophos Anti-Virus for Mac Home Edition

I have just downloaded Sophos 8 onto my Mac. It has detected 2 of the above threats, but says it cannot clean them up. I was directed to the manual disinfection instructions. Unfortunately, these bear no relation to what I have - ie it says go to Preferences and click Immediate then Disinfection. No such option as Immediate exists, and nothing leads me to any clean up plan. Can anyone advise me how to get rid of these threats?

All the instructions are written for the SAV 7 interface.  However, the SAV 8 interface is pretty much the same for these instructions, and neither mention "Immediate".  That sounds like something from the Endpoint Protection 10 for Windows enterprise product.  Where are you going for the instructions?  I believe there are two sets of links from most description pages, one for Mac and one for Windows.

There's a good set of instructions on this forum, but it boils down to Preferences -> On-Access (or Scan Local) -> Clean up threat.

If this doesn't work, switch it to Delete threat -- as most malware that shows up on OS X can be safely deleted without further cleanup, either by disinfection (where a clean file has been infected) or system cleanup (where the malware has changed/dropped config files).
