Re: manual clear

Basically you clean up manually by creating a custom scan (open Preferences). Configure it (Edit scan) by adding the required Scan Items (if you want to do it for a special folder like your .Trash go to MacHD->Users->you and type .trash in the search) and setting the necessary  Options (When a threat is found: Clean up threat and If cleanup fails: Delete threat). Run the scan.

Re: manual clear

I'm also not an expert - but I think dragging from the logs doesn't work.

Edit the custom scan and either you drag a folder from Finder to the Scan Items window or add one or more by clicking + and selecting it.

WoodyForest,

we set up these forums so that the more experienced people can help the less experienced. So don't be embarassed, you'll soon be up there with those in the know :-).  And remember,  the more questions you ask, the more everybody can learn.

Re: manual clear

I am new to Mac also, and  also having problems understanding how to manually clean up a Mal/EncPk-HI threat. I tried dragging it to the Custom Scans with no luck. I tried finding it in files with no luck. I can't even expand the location enough to look deeper. Help!!!

Re: manual clear

Hi Wednesdate, do you mean that the 'Clean Up Threat' button is not enabled (greyed out)?

If it is, have you authenticated with the Quarantine Manager window (the padlock icon in the bottom left-hand corner)?

Re: manual clear

In Quaarntine Manager, the "Clean Up Threat" button does not light up under the "Action Available" column after I unlock the window to proceed with clean up manually option.  Anyone have this problem?  Anyone know what to do about it?
