scan local disks should ask an Administrator-Account

Hello Everyone,

i have installed Sophos Antivirus successfully, its really great. If i want to start an scan of my local disks, it says i had to login with an admin account to scan them. Why did it not ask there after an admin-account on this machine? So that i could type it in and can run this scan without logout?

Re: scan local disks should ask an Administrator-Account

For most scans, you can authenticate as an administrator when logged in to your guest account.  For the few scans that won't work in this fashion, you can log in to your admin account while still logged in to your user account.

To configure this, go to Apple Menu -> System Preferences -> Users & Groups

Click on Login Options, and ensure that "Show fast user switching menu" is enabled.

Then, you can log in as admin from that menu in the menu bar without logging out of your other account.  When done, log out of your admin account, and you can log back in to your already-running user account.
